Coffee should be good, had coffee from the Outback in Oz, strong make a man out of a boy and curl your toes at 10 paces make a man out of a tomboy too. 300 year old Jack Daniels? Hell even at the original ageing time that krap was so sweet it tasted like rock candy, can't imagine 300 years improved the taste.

We actually do drink our coffee a little stronger here in the land of Aus than some might be used to. For instance Starbucks when they started up here were shocked when they couldn't mint money by selling watered down dishwater. Lavazza, the Italian named coffee seller persisted for years but only started to sell well after they finally realised they had to sell stronger coffee beans.

And for one small but significant insight that might put everyone on the right track to enlightenment when we needed a new coffee machine at our place we bought the red one because the red ones go faster.

I'd figure JD that's been sitting for 300 yrs would be closer to vodka... Pure alcohol and nothing else, well provided you don't shake the bottle. That sludge on the bottom is probably turpentine.

Hornet- Yeah, turps are sweet....and lethal....They used to mix it up with other cheap stuff to make "bathtub gin"

Lot of people were very sick....And a lot died.
