Sorry to hear about the overheating. I hope you are feeling better now.

And BTW, nice energy explosion effect!

warp9- Thanks, feeling a little better, they are stuffing me with cold drinks and Popsicles.......

I got the explosion off of Renderosity's freebie section.

It's called: BK_Fireball.

JAMIE59- Well, if everyone you grew up with, and everybody you worked with were self-serving psychopaths, and you were given a chance, even a very slim chance to join a community of sane, fairly compassionate people, would you do it, even if you're branded a traitor?

Overheating, were we? Did they check to see if your thermostat was working properly? /grin/

Seriously, that's nothing to mess around with. I've passed out from the heat before and cooling down afterwards can be a bitch. Glad to hear you're on the mend.

I'd say right about now, being branded a traitor is the last thing on Squidge's mind. She's certainly a unique Bug; one with both a conscience and a sense of self-preservation. Plus she doesn't talk like a pirate in a cartoon.

The Old Scribe- Yes, thank you, stuffed with Popsicles, iced tea, ultra-cold coke that almost froze, and salt pills.....Ugh.

Squidge is unusual, and her superiors were about to kill and eat her. They frown strongly on non-conformists....

He nailed it.

(Re overheating, AFAIU, very cold drinks are not the best, they bring more temperature-related stress to the body, which now needs to either produce more heat or transfer heat from other parts to get the stuff to conforming temperature. Unfortunately the first is faster. So drinks at room temperature (as long as that's below body temperature would be best.)

The trick we used to use back when I did a lot of bicycling is to get some ice, put it in a wet towel, and apply to the back of the neck. It doesn't cool you down but your brain _thinks_ you are cooler and so doesn't freak out as much.
